Discuss the common size problems and other contents of curved steel beams
In any discussion about curved steel beams, certain topics may be discussed: the section to be rolled, the material grade, the direction of the curved section, the radius (including specifying where to measure from (outside, inside, center)) ), and radians (or arc length). Are there dimensional tolerances? Without this information, metal rolling companies will no longer be able to bend structural steel of a certain length.
But projects usually require longer conversation time.
Who will provide the raw materials? Customer or supplier?
How to deal with the end of the curved part? Should it be trimmed off? Should they include the initial distortion that will be eliminated by the customer? Or should there be straight tangents at both ends? If this is the case, care must be taken to ensure a smooth transition from the curved portion to the straight portion. How to cut the end? Saw marks? Is the torch thick?
Is the bent part suitable for placing on a standard size flatbed or truck? Or do transport parts require special permits? If so, should the curved part be cut?
Will the curved beam be exposed? Do they need to meet the requirements of AESS (Exposed Bending Steel for Buildings)? And, if so, what are the specific expectations? It is essential that the customer's expectations are spelled out in detail to avoid any misunderstandings.
The content of the dialogue should include when to deliver the curved part. Who will arrange the transportation of the finished product. And if the customer has any special unloading requirements, such as maximum lifting load.
There are clear and common expectations for the needs of customers and suppliers, and the benefits will far exceed the "cost" of efforts.
