Specify the bolt hole style in the angle ring for bending angle

Angle ring, also called "angle flange", usually with or without bolt holes. When used as a mating flange, these rings can be welded together or bolted together. In order to be fixed together correctly, multiple dimensions must be specified and maintained.

Generally, rings with diameters ranging from 3 inches to 72 inches in one inch increments usually have standardized bolt patterns. But there are so many types of corner rings because they can be made in countless sizes. Rings can usually be made with a diameter tolerance of +/- 1/16in. In order for the ring to match correctly, this tight tolerance is important.

The most common corner rings are those called "leg out" corner rings, some of which are shown below.

Bolt holes are usually placed on horizontal legs, that is, like the brim of a hat or the leg of an old hat. What needs to be specified is the following:

Leg with holes

The size of the holes and whether they are round, slotted or other shapes

Number of holes

The spacing between the holes can be regular or irregular

Note that the bolt circle of the hole should not be too close to the vertical leg, nor too close to the edge of the horizontal leg (for example, unless the edge of the horizontal leg is to be grooved).

Angle ring for slotted bolt hole

Bolt holes can also be placed on vertical legs. What needs to be specified here is the following:

Leg with holes

The size of the holes and whether they are round, slotted or other shapes

Number of holes

The spacing between the holes can be regular or irregular

The gauge line on the vertical foot will locate the hole in the ring. Also, care should be taken not to place the gauge line too close to the horizontal leg or the edge of the leg (for example, unless it is intended to be used as an incision).

Finally, the bolt hole can be placed in the angle steel ring, and the direction of the foot should be different from other directions. They can be placed in leg-entry corner rings, with pointed in, pointed out, and other off-axis directions, and they can also be placed in multi-radius, spiral and other rings with compound curves.
